daCi 2024 Slovenia Scholarships

daCi is delighted to announce a grant from the Cooper-Newell Foundation to support registration scholarships for the 2024 conference in Ljubljana, Slovenia. daCi is committed to assisting as many young members of daCi and chaperones, or those affiliated through group or institutional memberships attendees as possible.

Applications for Twinning, Outreach and Research projects now closed!

Many daCi members around the world seek the opportunity to attend a daCi international conference, to benefit from the shared expertise and rich experiences offered, resulting in exchanges and communications. Consequently, daCi has developed initiatives that enables its members to collaborate on projects such asTwinning, Outreach and Across Borders Research.

daCi Twinning Projects interweave the skills and knowledge of dancers and/or dance educators from different cultures and places to create dialogue and new dance knowledge. Twinning Partners might be researchers and young dancers, dance teachers and choreographers, two diverse dance groups or other pairing arrangements.

Partners exchange ideas and visions during the planning period in the leadup to the daCi conference and create a project together. Results will be shared at the 2024 daCi Conference in Slovenia. Outreach Project

Dear daCi members, you have asked, and we have listened and delivered! Jump into the new daCi Outreach Project – APPLY NOW!

CA$5,000.00 financial assistance for daCi members to design and implement a dance teaching project that benefits teachers and young people. daCi has developed an initiative that enables one or more daCi members (host and applicant) to invite a dance teacher/educator (invitee also a daCi member), to visit them in their community or country to facilitate a dance teaching and learning residency. The experience will:

  • Build awareness and visibility of dance for children and young people in your country.
  • Increase daCi membership by creating an environment of inclusivity and visibility where non-daCi members may experience and benefit from the daCi network.

Across Border Research Project

Dance and the Child International (daCi) is welcoming applications for research grants under daCi Across Border Research Project. The grant aims to support collaborative and innovative research ideas from dancers, teachers, scholars, and researchers across the world that promote transcultural and transnational inquiries on children’s dance. The provisional or final findings of the research project will be presented during the 2024 daCi conference that will be held in Slovenia from 7-12 July, 2024. Guidelines of the call can be accessed on the following link. Applications should be made on the appropriate application form and send to the international secretary: secretary@daci.international.
